My name is Jesse Knight and I am … “Man Vs Wine!”
I’m originally from Virginia, but after 22 years in Europe, today I live and work near Bordeaux, France. After a somewhat unusual journey, today I work with some of the best (and delicious!) independent, small family & sustainable wineries around Europe, but especially in Bordeaux!
In a former life, I used to wear my bow tie as a professor at some of the most elite schools in England and Switzerland. Since then, I also became British, I’ve lived in 4 countries, I studied at “Wine University” and became a sommelier!
Today I have a small wine business where I run wine tours all over Bordeaux, Cognac and Champagne, I have a small wine club with members all over the world, I sommelier at weddings and corporate events, I curate private cellars, I support wineries with their export and marketing and … I help clients with all of their wine related aspects for the wedding! 🍷

We had a wonderful day with Jesse and highly recommend his services to anyone looking to discover more about wine in the Bordeaux region. Jesse is hugely knowledgeable and passionate about wine and the region and imparts this knowledge in an easy and entertaining manner. He has clearly gone to great lengths to learn about the terroir and the quirks of the different vineyards. The three chateaux Jesse selected were little-known independent producers making great, high quality wine. The final chateau in particular was a real hidden gem. The owner is wonderful; she exudes such warmth and creativity and these qualities infuse all of her wines. Jesse’s choice for lunch was also spot on – wonderful food and company and a relaxed ambiance. If you’re looking to do a wine tour in Bordeaux we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Man vs Wine. Not only is Jesse hugely knowledgeable and entertaining, but having a built-in driver and translator meant that everyone in our group was able to fully relax and enjoy the day. Santé!

Personal tour with passion and enthusiasm!
Jesse organised a lovely and unique day for us in St Emilion! We visited two local chateaux, the tour was very personal. They had so much passion and enthusiasm for what they did which they loved to share! Their wines were delicious and we would never have found them without Jesse!
Jesse arranged everything for us and the day was seamless! Jesse also arranged a delicious lunch in a fabulous French restaurant. The food was incredible and the setting was beautiful overlooking the vineyards of St Emilion! Jesse’s recommendation of wine for lunch was also exquisite!
We would highly recommend Jesse and Man vs Wine, thank you very much for a really lovely and special day!

Excellent wine tasting tour!
Having experienced wine tasting events, I thought I knew what to expect from Man vs Wine…but this one was very different to anything experienced previously! Jesse’s passion and knowledge gave this tour a completely new dimension and, of course, he is a fluent French speaker so translation services are part of the package! He educated us from grape to bottle. He has an amazing palate and was very quick to understand mine, and therefore guide me in the right direction. He selected his chateaux for the tour based on their excellence in wine production, picking out little known local producers of high quality, each of which proved to be exceptionally hospitable for our party. Jesse arranged a wonderful lunch venue for the group and joined us. This proved exceptionally useful as, using his knowledge, he was able to pick out the hidden treasure in the wine selection which we would all have missed. During the lunch he was able to impart further fascinating and useful information to us all – the lunch would not have been the same without him. If you’re thinking of experiencing a Wine Tour in France, I would highly recommend Man vs Wine but make sure you have Jesse with you – you’ll miss out on so much if you go it alone.
